GAC Toyota has unveiled its new all-electric Toyota bZ4X SUV.
Thanks to the close collaboration between Toyota and Subaru, the Solterra, Subaru’s first all-electric vehicle, is built on the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X, and in some regions the two vehicles are even produced directly on the same line.
Toyota builds its own all-electric models, including the Toyota bZ 4X, Lexus RZ450e, etc., which are all-electric vehicles based on the e-TNGA architecture.
The dimensions of the Toyota bZ4X electric vehicle are 4690/1860/1650 mm and have a wheelbase of 2850 mm.
In terms of power, the new car offers users a choice of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, with the front-wheel drive model powered by a single engine with a maximum output of 150kW, while the second is equipped with two 80kW engines front and rear, 0-to-zero in 3.8 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively. In terms of batteries, the new vehicle will be equipped with 50.3 kWh and 66.7 kWh triple CATL lithium battery packs, providing four CLTC full range options of 400 kilometers, 500 kilometers, 560 kilometers and 615 kilometers.
In terms of off-road performance, which is rarely mentioned in purely electric SUVs, the Toyota bZ4X performs well. It features Subaru and Toyota’s X-MODE all-wheel-drive off-road assistance and a new clutch. Intelligent creep mode control. Easy to handle light off-road, Subaru’s horizontally-opposed permanent all-wheel drive system is its main selling point.
It is worth noting that the Toyota bZ4X launched in the Chinese market will be equipped with a battery jointly developed with CATL and will be produced in Toyota’s exclusive production line.
