BMW X1 N46 engine intake VANOS regulator failure

The customer complained that the fault light was on and the car was weak. After replacing the intake regulator solenoid valve, the fault still existed.

Fault analysis:
Through data flow analysis, this car sometimes has a high speed and the intake regulator control value occasionally deviates too much from the actual value, which causes the fault light to light up. So from this aspect, it is a problem with the oil circuit and the regulating wheel. After removing the cover, it was found that the maintenance of this car was not timely. According to experience, the two one-way valves and sprockets of the cylinder head were directly replaced. Finally, the problem was solved.
